After the fires, memory and restoration initiatives in Var and Drôme
On October 27, 2026, the association Correns 21 invited residents of Correns to share their experiences during the 14 days of fighting the summer fire near Brignoles, as part of an artistic project. The same day, more than 7 million euros raised through the Loto were announced to restore the forests of Drôme and Var, with the funds to be transferred to the ONF and the French Biodiversity Office to fund studies and reforestation in the devastated massifs. On October 28, in Cotignac, four employees of an integration worksite volunteered to clean up the municipality and enhance the value of dead wood, in solidarity with the fire-stricken municipalities of Var.
