In Paris, "Vuitton sidewalks" revive debate over public space funding

Louis Vuitton, an LVMH subsidiary, has obtained permission to redevelop at its own expense the Bassano and Galilée streets, at the foot of its future megastore on the Champs-Élysées, rekindling the debate over the role of the private sector in urban planning.
