# Multiplication of copper thefts on networks and charging stations in France > Late October 2026, repeated cable thefts on electric vehicle charging stations are reported in the Lens area, a phenomenon then described as a new scourge. The incidents then spread to other infrastructures: telephone network in Cramant, fiber in the Laonnois, public lighting in Mondeville and Aubigny-Les Clouzeaux, or telephone cables near Rouen. Copper thefts are also recorded in the Ain and Morbihan, the latter presented as the most targeted Breton department. Early November, Charge France indicates that more than 15% of the fast-charging network has been affected and that cable thefts have multiplied by ten in one year. **In brief**: Ongoing story bringing together 10 events in 8 departments (Ain, Aisne, Calvados and 5 more), followed from 30 October 2026 to 5 November 2026. 16 articles from 10 sources (security); last updated on 5 November 2026 at 21:30. - Status: ongoing - Category: Security - Place: Ain, Aisne, Calvados, Marne, Morbihan, Pas-de-Calais, Seine-Maritime, Vendée - First detected: 30 October 2026 at 13:56 - Updated: 5 November 2026 at 21:30 - Web page: https://acturadar.com/en/stories/253-multiplication-of-copper-thefts-on-networks-and-charging-stations-in-france ## Reported figures - 13.000 euros - 18 millions d'euros - 550.000 € - 12 euros ## Timeline (10 events) ### 30 October 2026 — [Serial cable thefts at electric charging stations in the Lens area](https://acturadar.com/en/events/4921-serial-cable-thefts-at-electric-charging-stations-in-the-lens-area.md) In the Lens area, cables at electric vehicle charging stations are repeatedly stolen, described as a new scourge. 1 sources, 1 articles · Lens — Pas-de-Calais ### 30 October 2026 — [Copper thieves now target electric vehicle charging stations](https://acturadar.com/en/events/4979-copper-thieves-now-target-electric-vehicle-charging-stations.md) After telecom lines, public lighting and irrigation pivots, metal thieves are now targeting electric vehicle charging stations. 3 sources, 3 articles · Nationwide ### 31 October 2026 — [Cramant: new copper theft and vandalism of telephone network](https://acturadar.com/en/events/5541-cramant-new-copper-theft-and-vandalism-of-telephone-network.md) Thieves struck on Rue de la Noue in Cramant, in the Marne, and vandalized the telephone network between the village and Avize.
