## Reported figures

- 1 deaths
- 5 injured

## Coverage angles

Both left- and right-wing media outlets report Le Monde's correction regarding the alleged National Rally leaflets. However, the left focuses on the media controversy and the National Rally's defamation complaint, while the right highlights the newspaper's errors and the requested apologies.

**Common ground**

- Le Monde initially reported that National Rally leaflets were found in the suspect's vehicle in the Trappes attack but later corrected this information.
- The National Rally responded by demanding public apologies from Le Monde and/or filing a defamation lawsuit.
- Both sides describe the initial report as false or 'fake news.'

**Differences**

- The left emphasizes the controversy between Le Monde and CNews and the National Rally's complaint, while the right focuses on Le Monde's 'errors' and 'backtracking.'
- The right cites the anti-terrorist prosecutor's denial that no political party leaflets were found, a point absent from the left's excerpts.
- L'Humanité questions whether the leaflets are 'linked to the far right' and refers to a 'militant operation' by the National Rally, whereas right-wing headlines concentrate on Le Monde's correction and the National Rally's reaction.
